MedConnect x Science | Growing Up Digital: How Technology is Shaping Young Minds

From playtime to screen time, today’s youth are growing up in a world of swipes, scrolls, and constant connection. But at what cost?

Explore how constant connectivity is impacting young minds. Join expert panelists as they unpack the risks—and potential—of growing up in a digital world.

Growing Up Digital: How Technology is Shaping Young Minds on Wednesday, 21 May.

Hosted by award-winning journalist and All in the Mind podcast presenter Sana Qadar, this timely event explores how digital technology is deeply embedded in young people’s lives — and how we can better support them in an always-connected world.

A panel of leading psychologists, psychiatrists and industry experts will unpack the science behind addictive design, the rise in mental health disorders, and the real-world harms linked to online behaviour - while also highlighting how digital tools are being used in innovative ways to support young people, from early interventions to improved access to care.

After the discussion, stay for drinks, canapés and conversation from 7:30pm–8:30pm. You’ll also have the chance to experience interactive activations exploring the intersection of mental health and technology through engaging activities.

Doors open 5.45pm, Panel 6.15pm-7.30pm

Venue: Leighton Hall, John Niland Scientia Building UNSW Kensington
